Tired of filling out reimbursement slips every time you catch a cab during a business trip? Uber for Business is designed to solve that problem by eliminating the reimbursement process completely. Instead of making you pick up the tab, and ask for repayment later, the service lets taxi drivers bill your company directly for the trip. The service is now available in all 45 countries around the world where Uber operates. The app provides a big perk for frequent travelers; filling out and processing reimbursement forms is a drag on productivity, and it's easy for you, or your employees, to forget about a short taxi trip in the middle of a hectic work trip.
If you've never used Uber, here's how it works: First, your company must sign up for Uber for Business. It's free to sign up, and once you do, all trips taken through that account will be billed to the company. Then you, or your employees, can simply load the Uber app on your smartphone. The app, which is available on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry, sends a signal to a nearby Uber driver, using your phone's built-in GPS sensor to enable the driver to locate you. No phone calls or verbal directions are necessary. When you reach your destination, just hop out of the cab and go; billing is performed wirelessly, so you can avoid the hassle of fumbling with cash or swiping a credit card.
If you're an employee who regularly expenses your trips, or a manager who processes reimbursement slips, the service can eliminate a lot of tedious work. But transportation isn't the only expense that employees have to track. Check out our list of the best expense-tracking apps for all major mobile platforms to help you stay on top of things.
