Looking for a midrange smartphone that packs high-end capabilities? HTC launched today (Sept. 23) the Desire 820, a first-of-its-kind 64-bit smartphone that's packed with more than enough power for small business users.
Designed with a sleek, stylish, two-toned unibody, the HTC Desire 820 comes with a 5.5-inch 720 x 1280 display, and is easily portable at 6.2 x 3.1 x .30 (HWD) inches and 5.46 ounces. Its 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera also put this smartphone a cut above others in its class. Featuring a power-efficient 64-bit processor and long battery life, the HTC Desire 820 may be the Android business phone you're looking for.
64-bit power
The HTC Desire 820 is all about power and performance. It's the first smartphone powered by the 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, paired with the dual 1.5-GHz quad-core + 1.0-GHz quad core with integrated 4G LTE Cat. 4 modem connectivity.
In English, this means the Desire 820 is lightning-fast and can keep up with even the most demanding business users. Whether you're working on small files, multitasking across multiple apps or running resource-heavy business apps, this technology means your productivity won't be hampered by slow speeds or by a quickly drained battery. Combine this with 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 and HTC's intuitive Sense 6 user interface (UI), and you've got a business powerhouse packed in a single smartphone.
Battery life and storage
Battery life won't be a problem with the HTC Desire 820. Thanks to the 2600-mAh battery and power-efficient processor, this smartphone offers up to 22.4 hours of talk time and 424 hours of standby time.
Where the HTC Desire 820 falls short is storage. It offers only 16GB of built-in storage, which may be too limited for business users. (This is still an upgrade from its predecessor, the Desire 816, which comes with only 8GB of storage.) If you need more space, a microSD Card slot is available, allowing you to expand storage up to 128GB.
Cost and availability
Expected to hit stores worldwide in early November, the HTC Desire 820 will be available in a wide range of colors to reflect your business and personality. Pricing has yet to be announced and will vary by region.
