LG's G Vista is a midrange phablet with premium looks and an affordable price point. The device looks a lot like the company's new flagship LG G3 smartphone, but it lacks the high-end internals of that device. Instead, the G Vista is aimed squarely at users who want an attractive, middle-of-the-road phablet with a big display. The G Vista's 5.7-inch display is certainly large, which should be a perk for business users who need a lot of screen space for productivity tasks. The device does have a lower-resolution screen than the 5.5-inch G3, and its relatively modest quad-core processor won't deliver the same performance as flagship phones, but it's still worth a look for budget-minded business users. Here are three features that make the G Vista good for work.
Premium design
The G Vista is a midrange smartphone that looks and feels like a premium device. It features the same metal-coated shell and sleek curves as the G3, with even slimmer bezels around the screen. That makes the G Vista a smartphone that business users will be proud to show off.
Software features
Like other LG smartphones, the G Vista packs in a slew of useful software features. For starters, QSlide is a multitasking feature that lets you open a second app – such as the calculator, calendar or Web browser -- in a persistent floating window on your screen. You can resize the second app, drag it around the screen and minimize it with one tap. Meanwhile, Knock Code lets you lock and unlock your device by registering a unique series of taps on your display. It helps you keep your smartphone secure, without the need to enter a cumbersome password every time you want to use it.
Value
The G Vista's midrange price point sets it apart from the flagship LG G3. You can pick it up through Verizon for $100 with a two-year contract, or buy it off-contract for $399. There's also the option to buy via Verizon's Edge payment plan and make 20 monthly payments of $19.99 to own the device. That makes the G Vista relatively affordable for business users who want a very large smartphone without breaking the bank.
